A point to ponder upon!

"A worshipper perceives that he is near to God because he is awake all night worshipping God. But after worship, your prayers are for health, long life, wealth, and for the damsels and slaves of the Paradise. Ponder! Did you ever pray to God, ‘O’ God, I desire from Thee nothing but Thee’?" -His Divine Eminence Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi in His book, ‘The Religion of God’

This particular quote really speaks to me. People believe themselves to be better than others because they worship extensively; however, when they finish worshipping God, they have a list of things they want done from God. It is as if worshipping God is a business transaction  - a give and take. But what about practically forming a sincere relationship with God?

If you haven't read this book yet, I urge you to check it out! An amazing read, refreshingly clearly written. I cannot recommend it enough to all those searching to spiritualise their lives. It truly is a challenge to those who refute the existence of spirituality.
